Iron Maiden Lead Singer Likes to Fly – As A Pilot

by Matt on August 19, 2009

On the band’s 2008-09 tour, Bruce Dickinson (lead singer for Iron Maiden), pulled double duty as the chief pilot for a customized Boeing 757.

When Bruce is not playing with the band, he clocks in for his other job – commercial pilot for Astraeus Airlines. Wow, how is that for two of the coolest jobs in the world?

Associated Press reporter Charles J. Gans wrote an in-depth article about Bruce Dickinson dual jobs:

“As the band’s “designated driver,” he’d refrain from late-night carousing, turning in early and avoiding any drinking to meet aviation industry regulations for mandatory rest periods and zero blood-alcohol content.”
