The current issue of Forbes Magazine profiles Russian business aviation company, Ocean Sky. Author Parmy Olson says the husband and wife team who started the company were pioneers in the business aviation business in Russia, but are now looking for business opportunities in other countries as the wealthy in Russia feel the effects of the economy.
Ocean Sky, based in London, scored a sweet product placement last year with the James Bond film Quantum of Solace. Eight of Ocean Sky’s jets were used, along with their logo.
The company recorded a 5.6 million pound ($8.9 million) loss last year.
Owner Kurosh Tehranchian:
“wants the market to know he has a war chest to make acquisitions, and is forecasting a swing back to profit of 3.6 million pounds ($5.7 million), on turnover of $119 million.”
