David Koenig, of the Associated Press, wrote about the General Aviation Manufacturers Association’s report that shipments of all business aircraft fell 7.1% last year. Smaller jets are affected first, but the group said larger aircraft usually follow 18 months after the start of a recession because of a longer lead time.
According to the article:
“(Sales) have slowed but not stopped,” a Boeing spokeswoman said Wednesday. “There are still active campaigns under way for all sizes of our jets.” That includes VIP versions of the 787 Dreamliner and the 747-8 that is under development. Boeing has sold eight VIP 747-8s and at least nine VIP 787s.”
